Last year, Hallmark came under fire for raising their prices in May 2025. They claimed the new price increases were due to the President’s tariffs that would be coming soon. That made sense at the time, but why are the prices still based on 2025 tariff pricing when it has ended?
I went to see the new ornaments today, and the pricing is all reflective of 2025 price hikes.
Notice how companies raise prices due to “socioeconomic” issues but never reverse them when the issue ends?
So why is Hallmark still charging 2025 tariff pricing in a 2026 economy?
That is a question I can’t answer, but I can show you the significant mark-up that came after the Dream Book was release in 2025, and continued into 2026.
These will compare new ornaments in a series to prior ones.
Holiday Barbie.
She was $24.99 but after the “tariffs” she cost $29.99 in 2025 and now 2026.
Vehicle ornaments
Last year’s”Sky’s the Limit” series was $19.99 and this year it’s $24.99.
”The Cars the Star” series went from $23.99 to $28.99.
Sweet Decade
2025 was $15.99, while 2026 hit $19.99.
Santa even saw a price increase.
$27.99 in 2025 and $34.99 in 2026.
Young Santa
This figure increased by $6 for 2026.
Video Game System Ornaments
PlayStation is $28.99 this year, but the Xbox was $22.99 in 2025.
The Holiday Lighthouse and Nostalgic Houses/Shops
Both of these increased as well. Each went up $6.

But why are we still paying higher prices?
I have seen several members of various collector boards claim they may stop buying altogether because the prices are getting so ridiculous.
For many items, you can wait for clearance and get a better deal. My Hallmark was clearancing the Haunted Mansion figures from last year at 75% off. I wish I had waited and only paid $15.
