Yak & Yeti Restaurant now has its own medallion machine with four designs at $6.95 each. A full set costs more than the lion set at Disney’s own Animal Kingdom machine.
Yak & Yeti Restaurant is now serving souvenirs with the pot stickers.
A new Yak & Yeti Medallion Machine at the restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is selling four collectible medallions at $6.95 each, WDW News Today reported Saturday morning, Nov. 7. The back of each one has a “Yak & Yeti Orlando” logo in the center.
Collecting all four runs $27.80. WDWNT didn’t mention a bundle deal. For comparison, the four lion medallions at Disney’s machine in Discovery Trading Company cost $6 each or $20 for the set when they arrived in June.
So the restaurant’s set costs $7.80 more. Blame the yeti.
What do the Yak & Yeti medallions look like?
WDWNT’s photos show four designs in three finishes:
-
Decorative hand: gold, with an eye in the center
-
Elephant: gold, surrounded by floral details
-
Panda: bronze, set against a bamboo-style background
-
Tiger: silver, a portrait
Two of the four have real-life neighbors in the park. Animal Kingdom’s tigers live on Maharajah Jungle Trek, a short walk from the restaurant, and its elephants roam the savanna on Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Where is the Yak & Yeti medallion machine?
It’s at Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Animal Kingdom’s Asia area, near the base of Expedition Everest. WDWNT didn’t say exactly where in the restaurant it sits, so ask a cast member or host if you don’t spot it.
Don’t mix it up with Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes, the quick-service counter next door. WDWNT placed the machine at the sit-down restaurant.
The restaurant is inside the park, so you’ll need Animal Kingdom admission to reach it. WDWNT also didn’t say what payment the machine takes, so bring a card and a backup plan.
How do Disney World medallion machines work?
Disney lists 36 medallion locations across Disney World on its website, with 39 machines in all. Two are in Animal Kingdom: Discovery Trading Company and Mombasa Marketplace. Disney notes that discounts don’t apply to medallions and that designs vary by machine.
Yak & Yeti’s machine isn’t on Disney’s list. Landry’s Inc. runs the restaurant, not Disney.
Prices vary, too. The new Christmas medallions at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom, with Mickey and friends, Jack Skellington and more, cost $10 each or $35 for all four, WDWNT reported Nov. 2. Next to those, $6.95 looks almost reasonable.
Has Yak & Yeti had a coin machine before?
Yes, in a lower-tech form. A 2019 TouringPlans roundup of Animal Kingdom’s 77 pressed coins found a pressed-penny machine at Yak & Yeti Restaurant. It was out of order that day, so the writer settled for a picture.
Medallions are the heavier, pricier cousin of the pressed penny. You get a finished coin instead of a squished one, and you pay for the upgrade.
What else should I know about Yak & Yeti?
It’s one of the most popular restaurants in any Disney park. Yak & Yeti ranked No. 4 on USA Today 10Best’s 2026 Readers’ Choice list of the best theme park restaurants, the top spot for a Disney park restaurant, Islands reported in May.
The restaurant has been at the foot of Expedition Everest since 2007. Reservations go through My Disney Experience, even though Landry’s runs the place.
The menu runs from pork pot stickers and kimchi calamari to sweet cream cheese wontons. Lunch and dinner entrees run about $15 to $35, per Islands.
So yes, you can now walk out with a tiger in your pocket and crab Rangoon in your stomach. Animal Kingdom remains undefeated.
