Currently, DC is filming the next Superman film, “Man of Tomorrow,” and someone managed to get a glimpse of Lex Luthor actor Nicholas Hoult walking awkwardly in the Warsuit armor. This has led many people to compare him to “Toy Story” Buzz Lightyear.
It’s all I could think of when I saw it too because it features similar green and purple coloring.
Best look at the Lex Warsuit in the set of Man of Tomorrow!

“Looks like something Buzz Lightyear would’ve worn though I remember the suit from the Super Powers toy lineup in the 1980’s.” – NEPatriot

I do love that they are using a pratical effects base suit for the film. CGI elements will likely be added, but we get the look of someone walking around in such a suit. He is moving fairly easily in that clunky thing, so I’m hoping it translates well on screen!
James Gunn gave Entertainment Weekly this image that was released yesterday,

A lot of people are very excited about it though, especially the bright colors and how well it moves.
Many have complained about superhero movies being so visually dark when the comics are often bright and colorful. However this is leading to the Buzz Lightyear comparisons.

There are also a lot of fans who aren’t on board with the colors, but this is one I think needs to be judged based on post production and the finished product.
“Man of Tomorrow” is set for release on July 9, 2027.
Hopefully it performs better than “Supergirl” likely will.
