Video game publisher Konami has recently been trying to regain some of their fans after years of poor business decisions. They lost fans over the infamous fallout with Hideo Kojima and the focus on gambling and mobile games. Now they will be remaking one of the most popular entries in the Metal Gear franchise Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
In preparation for the remake’s release and the 20th anniversary of the original on the PlayStation 2, a video presentation was posted. The video featured original Naked Snake actor David Hayter, along with two other actors-actress Lori Alan who played The Boss and actress Jodi Benson who was revealed to have voiced Snake’s love interest EVA.

For the past two decades Jodi Benson herself was never officially named as the voice of EVA, instead going under the name “Suzetta Miñet”.
For years fans have debated over who was the real voice actress since it was believed she used an alias. Now the Little Mermaid actress has been unmasked as the voice and the internet is going crazy over it.
In the interview Jodi revealed why she hid her name all these years. She stated: “So when we recorded back in 2003, just the various projects that I am affiliated with in my career are sort of family based, children based things like that. So it was actually Kris Zimmeran Salter, yeah, that was our director, and she kinda sat down with me and she’s like ‘Maybe we need to change your name.’ So she asked me ‘What was your dog’s name growing up?’ and I said ‘Suzette Monae’ and she’s like ‘You know what? Let’s build on that’. How about Suzetta? And instead of Monae like the artist we’ll do Miñet?’ and I was like ‘Sounds like a deal’.
It isn’t uncommon for voice actors to portray characters both for younger audiences as well as mature audiences. So it is understandable if someone would wish to not alienate either their fans or potential employers due to works they were affiliated with.
What do you think of this revelation? Was Jodi in the right to hide her name all those years ago? Or should she have just used her real name all this time? Let us know what you think.
