How to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day at home right now

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out on digital for $29.99 to buy or $24.99 to rent. The 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD arrive Dec. 15, and Netflix is next in line for streaming. Disney+ comes after that.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is finally out of theaters and onto your TV, as long as you’re willing to pay for it.

The biggest movie ever at the domestic box office hit digital storefronts Tuesday, Oct. 6. It costs $29.99 to buy and $24.99 to rent for 48 hours.

That’s not a typo on the rental. Renting costs just $5 less than owning it.

Where can you watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

On digital storefronts, not on a streaming subscription. Sony Pictures says the movie is available through Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango, and Sony Pictures Core. Forbes also lists YouTube.

You don’t need an Amazon Prime membership to buy or rent it on Prime Video.

Digital buyers get outtakes and 10 production featurettes, Forbes reports.

Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Netflix or Disney+?

It’s not currently on either platform, but Netflix gets it first.

Under Sony’s deals, Netflix has the first U.S. subscription streaming window for Sony Pictures’ theatrical releases, Spider-Man included.

Sony hasn’t announced a Netflix date.

After Netflix’s window ends, Disney gets its turn. Disney’s deal covers Sony’s theatrical releases from 2022 through 2026, so Brand New Day could eventually land on Disney’s streaming platforms, too.

When is Spider-Man: Brand New Day on 4K and Blu-ray?

Tuesday, Dec. 15. It’s coming on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD, with collectible editions in the mix, according to ComicBook.com.

The 4K and Blu-ray load up on extras. There are featurettes on Tom Holland‘s role, director Destin Daniel Cretton‘s approach, the practical stunts and the costumes.

There’s no director’s commentary and no deleted scenes, though. The DVD only gets three featurettes.

But it is in time for the holidays.

Is there an extended cut of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

It’s reportedly in the works. Deadline reported in September that Sony is planning a theatrical re-release with extra footage.

That footage reportedly includes Rosario Dawson‘s Claire Temple, plus “other surprises,” according to Deadline’s sources. Sony hasn’t confirmed it or announced a date.

Dawson has said she filmed a scene for the movie. “I shot a scene in the new Spider-Man movie, but I got cut out,” she told fans at a Galaxy Con panel on July 25, according to Forbes.

How much did Spider-Man: Brand New Day make?

A lot. It made $955 million in the U.S. and Canada and about $2.51 billion worldwide, according to The Numbers.

In September, it passed Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the highest-grossing movie ever at the domestic box office, Variety reported. It held the No. 1 spot for its first six weekends.

Overseas, China led with about $235 million, followed by the United Kingdom at $134.1 million. The movie cost a reported $225 million to make.

Worldwide, it still trails Avengers: Endgame, which made about $2.8 billion.

The movie opened July 31 and runs 150 minutes. It’s rated PG-13 for action, violence and some language.

Here’s the official trailer:

That’s two and a half hours. At $24.99 for a 48-hour rental, you can watch it twice and still have time left over.
