As you know Disney has already announced they plan on making several changes to “The Jungle Cruise” attraction. We’ve already seen some of the new story elements like the boat that has been taken over by chimpanzees and the safari group that is up a pole.

But now Disney is taking it a step further and adding to the back story with a new character called Alberta Falls, who now runs the Jungle Navigation Company.
Alberta Falls is the granddaughter of Doctor Albert Falls, who established the Jungle Navigation Co. and is also part of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers known as S.E.A. across the global Disney parks.
You might have heard the S.E.A term before because the new rumor is that there will be a Disney+ “universe” based around the characters from this organization. The rumor has Ron Moore (Syfy’s “Battlestar Galactica”) attached to the project.
So now Disney is taking the opportunity to not only change the attraction for “diveristy” and “inclusion” but they are also changing the backstory to leverage it on Disney+.
Here’s a bit about Alberta Falls from the Disney Parks Blog, I mean the 1938 issue of ‘The Daily Gnus’:

So it’s going to get interesting how they are going to start leveraging and changing things to align with their new Disney+ “universe.” However, I think it could be fun as long as they don’t make too many changes and make it too obvious.
