Sweet Pete’s Connection to Real-Life Actor Bobby Driscoll
Some believe that Sweet Pete is a reference to Bobby Driscoll, who served as the animation model for Disney’s Peter Pan.

Driscoll appeared in Disney live-action films including “Song of the South” (1946), “So Dear to My Heart” (1949), and “Treasure Island” (1950).
Later in the 1950s, his acting jobs declined as he aged. Later, he became addicted to drugs and was sentenced to prison.
He died in 1968, when his body was found in an abandoned building in New York City.
