What happens at Volcano Bay Nights

The event runs after regular park hours.

Ticketed guests can enter as early as 4 p.m., with the event itself starting at 7 p.m.

A perk of the event is the shorter wait times for the big attractions, including Krakatau Aqua Coaster, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, and TeAwa the Fearless River.

There’s also a Beach Bash at Waturi Beach with a live DJ and character meet-and-greets featuring Shrek and Madagascar characters from DreamWorks Animation.

Complimentary treats have included Blue Raspberry Churro Bites and garlic parmesan popcorn, with specialty food and drinks for purchase around the park.

Check the date before you book

Universal’s March announcement listed August event nights on the 7th, 14th, and 21st. The resort then expanded the schedule in late June, adding dates across the summer.

What’s next at Volcano Bay

The water park’s season has an end date too.

Volcano Bay closes for seasonal maintenance on October 26, and it will reopen on March 24, 2027.

That’s a five-month window with no water park at Universal Orlando.

Elsewhere at the resort right now: Passholder Appreciation Days run through September 30 with dedicated entrances, exclusive menu items, and extra savings. Back to Hogwarts programming continues through September 1, including a limited-edition Butterbeer mug while supplies last.

And Halloween Horror Nights starts August 28, one week after Volcano Bay Nights ends.
