Disney recently shut down Test Track for a retheming. Test Track is considered an “E-Ticket” attraction, drawing large numbers of guests. By shutting it down, Disney may have created more traffic issues for guests as they flock to other attractions.
It also doesn’t help that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind still uses the Virtual Queue. The Virtual Queue allows guests to reserve a time slot to ride the attraction at no extra cost, however, the number of guests is limited and many don’t get a spot in line.
This is forcing guests to the other E-Ticket” attractions, such as Soarin’, Frozen Ever After, and especially Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which is making lines incredibly long.
With two E-Ticket attractions closed or limited, other non-E-ticket attractions like Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Journey Into Imagination will likely see much longer lines as guests look for attractions to visit.
Since Disney isn’t starting the Food and Wine Festival until August 29, 2024, there is even less to do to offset crowds.
Recently, Blog Mickey posted a video of the line waiting to get into Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at the World Showcase’s France pavilion.
The line seems to start between Canada and the UK pavilions and stretches around behind into France.
With Test Track now closed and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind still hidden behind a Virtual Queue, it looks like everyone wants to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! pic.twitter.com/7Utv94xghh

Why did Disney shut Test Track down?
Test Track is getting a retheme. The theming will change while the attraction ride system remains the same.
When it opened in 1999, the theme was based on crash test dummies and a General Motors testing area.

Then, it was changed to its recent version, sponsored by Chevrolet, featuring the Sim-Car and futuristic theming.

The next version will be inspired by The World of Motion.

The World of Motion once stood where Test Track stands now. The World of Motion was an opening day attraction in 1982 and continued until 1996, when it was replaced with Test Track.

The Test Track will likely be down for about a year, so it will be a long summer with long lines at EPCOT.
