Target Harry Potter collection: nearly 350 exclusives out today

Target Circle 360 members got first crack at more than 120 pieces of Target’s Harry Potter collection online Nov. 6. Everyone else gets nearly 350 exclusives Saturday, Nov. 7, with T-shirts from $20 and bag charms at $8.

Target is going big on Hogwarts. The chain’s Harry Potter holiday collection, nearly 350 new and exclusive products made with Warner Bros. Global Consumer Products, arrives in stores and online Saturday, Nov. 7, Target announced.

Some of it is already out. Target Circle 360 members got early online access to more than 120 apparel and accessories items on Friday, Nov. 6, starting at 8 a.m. ET, Southern Savers and Hip2Save reported.

Target timed the drop to the 25th anniversary of the Harry Potter film series. Prices stay mostly in gift range: T-shirts start at $20, bag charms are $8, and cardigans, zip-ups and sweatshirts with Hogwarts house details are $50 and under.

Cassandra Jones, Target’s senior vice president of merchandising for Fun101, pitched it to longtime fans and to people “just discovering the wonders of Hogwarts.”

It’s been a busy wizarding week. We covered HBO’s new Harry Potter wands on Nov. 6, and Vera Bradley’s Potter bags in October.

An earlier wave of Target’s Harry Potter treats and school supplies hit shelves in September. Here’s a September shopping trip from YouTube’s Kawaii Arcade Masters:

When does the Target Harry Potter collection come out?

  • Friday, Nov. 6: Circle 360 early access online for 120-plus clothing and accessories items, starting at 8 a.m. ET, per Southern Savers

  • Saturday, Nov. 7: The full collection in stores and on Target.com

Target also launches a new ad campaign Nov. 7, featuring a familiar face it didn’t name, Parade reported.

How much is the Target Harry Potter collection?

Target listed starting prices by category:

  • T-shirts: from $20

  • Family pajamas: from $30

  • Fleece: $50

  • Cardigans, zip-ups and sweatshirts: $50 and under

  • Bag charms: $8

  • Quilts, throw pillows and house pillow buddies: from $25

Hip2Save found some categories even cheaper on Target.com, with tops, bottoms and dresses as low as $8, shoes from $19.99, home decor from $6.99, and snacks and candy from $3.99.

For a family movie night, matching pajamas for a family of four start at $120, by our math.

What’s in the Target Harry Potter collection?

Clothes, home goods, collectibles and a few snacks. Some standouts so far:

  • Cloak of Invisibility robe: a robe inspired by Harry’s cloak; Target didn’t list a price

  • Privet Drive snow globe: $20, with Hedwig, per Southern Savers

  • Cast metal owl candelabra: $30

  • Gryffindor fleece half-zip: $50 for adults

  • Heat-reactive journals: they change color when touched with a warm hand, Parade reported

  • Golden Snitch cookie dough: Pillsbury sugar cookie dough in Snitch shapes, spotted by Hip2Save next to a Betty Crocker Pumpkin Cupcake Kit

There’s also a gold cauldron soap dispenser, red fleece slippers with gold “HP” lettering, black clogs with Gryffindor charms, themed cotton sheets and wall decor with fine etch drawings of each house.

Some stationery uses never-before-seen sketch art of places like the Burrow and the Great Hall, Parade reported. Board games, pins, musical snow globes and an “Up to No Good” wall banner round it out.

Is there a Target Harry Potter event?

Yes, on Nov. 7. Target’s Jersey City, New Jersey, store is hosting a wizarding world activity day. Other stores get first access to the new items and a free Hogwarts Crest button while supplies last, Target said.

If you’re near Jersey City, go early. “While supplies last” usually means not for long.

What other Harry Potter exclusives does Target have?

Books. Target sells exclusive Harry Potter Deluxe Edition hardcovers from Scholastic, released Tuesday, Nov. 3, Aguamenti reported. Each book has a single jewel-tone cover with a gold icon.

Preorder prices ran from $26.39 each for the first three books to $31.99 for Deathly Hallows, Aguamenti reported, though Target’s prices can change. The full seven-book set comes to about $195 at those prices, by our math.

Neither Scholastic nor Target formally announced the set, Aguamenti noted. The details come from Target’s listings.
