The 50th Anniversary is afoot at the Walt Disney World Resort and with the celebration comes a bevy of new treats to try. One of the newest treats can be found at Disney Springs at Amorette’s Patisserie, the 50th Celebration Petit Cake.
The description reads “vanilla chiffon cake with celebration blue mousse, blueberry jam, and lemon curd.”
When my party got to Amorette’s there were only two left, and luckily, we were able to snag one of the last two. These are limited during the day.
The $22 cake comes covered in fondant, rock candy, a chocolate 50th Anniversary stamp, gold flecks, and a non edible royal blue ribbon.
As you place your fork into the cake, you get down into the various layers with the chiffon cake, fondant, and mousse. I thought it might be lemon heavy as lemon can overpower, but I was pleasantly surprised with the flavoring. The cake itself was quite moist. The blueberry jam brought a different flavor on the end of the bite. Overall, the mix of flavors was quite interesting and worked well together.
The $22 price tag leaves little to be desired, but we’ve all had things that are more expensive and taste worse. After all, it is Disney and celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Don’t get me wrong, the cake was incredibly decadent. If you can stomach the price tag, I would recommend giving this cake a try.
