The Carousel of Progress is closed ahead of a full transformation, moving the timeline up to more modern times. But thankfully, we can still remember the previous version, thanks to some footage from Carousel Club on YouTube.
According to the account, this footage was filmed in the morning of March 9, 2022, but is only now being released.

How did they get so close?
They used a “walkaround” method where they got the theaters all to themselves at rope drop and fireworks time.
Then they got permission from the Cast Member to get in front of the stage to get film and photos, being careful to not trip the infrared censors that stop the attraction.
Extension clips were used to get their cameras between the scrims and curtains!
Here is the official explanation.
“We are going to kick things off with some walkaround footage from the morning of March 9th 2022. These “walkarounds” offered us an incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with many different aspects of the show. We would usually be able to secure our own theater two different times each day. Rope drop and fireworks! While everyone else was rushing to get to Space Mountain in the morning or wasting their time watching fireworks at night…we would be hanging around the entrance to COP waiting for our own theater!! With permission from the monitors cast member (which sometimes wouldn’t happen depending on who was working) we would be able to run around in front of the stages during the show and get some INSANE footage. This is just one of MANY of these that we did over the years!!
Joey would take up center stage filming John and I would run back and forth between the turntables. We both had our phones attached to extension clips which for me made it possible to reach between the scrims and curtains and get an un-obstructed view of the sets. All this while being careful not to accidentally trip the infrared intrusion sensors lining the front of the stage. There were however several instances throughout doing these where my shirt did brush across the lip of the stage as I was leaning over causing this to happen. In this video we were joined by our friend Jack! Enjoy! “

This is listed as #1, which implies more is coming!
