With the Ms. Marvel series for Disney Plus set to release next year it was only a matter of time when before we would start seeing promotional images showing off Iman Vellani as the titular hero.
The poster in question shows off Kamala Khan throwing a big fist in the air, but the fist is very different from past versions we’ve seen. This version is using what is called the “Crystal Smash” and appears to have her fist turn into a hard crystal like surface. Perhaps this is to add some more impact to her usual punch. Perhaps this is also another excuse to make an action figure.
The character has powers and abilities somewhat similar to Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic 4, thought not quite as stretchy. Being only a teenager she has a lot to learn of she wants to be the next big hero.
Kamala picked up the mantel of “Ms. Marvel” when Carol Danvers, the previous Ms. Marvel, became Captain Marvel. After this six episode mini-series airs on Disney plus viewers will only have to wait until 2023 when Kamala meets not only her predecessor, Carol Danvers, but also Monica Rambeau, daughter of Maria Rambeau, a close friend of Carol’s. All three will team up in The Marvels.
