As of late at Disneyland Park, there has been a large, empty, and drained submarine ride. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has been under a long closure/refurbishment since the closure of the Disneyland Resort for the COVID19 Pandemic in March of 2020. However, on July 25th, the submarine will submerge guests again.
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland Park has been there since 1959 but operated as Submarine Voyage, an E ticket ride. Walt Disney World had a replica of this ride in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, but this ride was demolished and removed in 1994 to create room for the Fantasyland Expansion. Seven Dwarves Mine Train now takes up the real estate that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea used to sit on.
This attraction, in Disneyland Park, still submerges guests in submarines but is now themed with a Finding Nemo overlay. It is set to reopen on July 25th with the addition of Hank, the surly orange octopus from Finding Dory.
In the above video from Disney Parks, Disney Imagineering takes guests into the lagoon to look at the new enhancements that have been added onto the attraction. Hank seemingly overlooks the lagoon with his normal grumpy attitude staring at the “mine, mine” seagulls. When Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage reopens on July 25th, it will make Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park feel more complete. Guests can once again get their fill of all of the fun characters from Pixar’s classics Finding Nemo and Finding Dory while submerging under the lagoon on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
