Inside Out 2 Will Come In Around $295 Million Globally For Opening Weekend

It seems that Disney and Pixar have some good news this weekend. The debut of Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” is going to come in at around $300 million globally ($295-$300 million) and about $155 million domestically.

“Inside Out 2” was the second-highest opening weekend for Pixar in about six years. In 2018 “The Incredibles 2” opened to $182.6 million domestically.

The Rotten Tomatoes score for this film is 92% Critical and 96% Audience. The film also has an “A” Cinemascore. “Inside Out 2 seems to be resonating with everyone.

“Inside Out 2” is about 13-year-old Riley’s original emotions (Joy, Anger, Sadness, Fear and Disgust) facing new emotions, including Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy, as she heads to hockey camp.

Theaters are happy because the film was one of the biggest first-week draws since “Barbie” in 2023. It is the biggest theatrical opening of 2024, beating “Dune 2” at 82.5 million and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” at 80 million.

The budget for this film is estimated to be around $200 million, so it could finally earn Disney some profit after two years of mostly dud films. Overall, the film industry is hopeful after this weekend.

Let’s see how far Disney can take this one.
