Injured Indiana Jones Performer Returns To Work at Walt Disney World– Boulder Couldn’t Stop Him

The Cast Member injured by a 400-pound boulder at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, has returned to work.  On December 30, 2025, Robert Herrick was injured when the boulder from the stunt show malfunctioned and rolled into the crowd. Herrick tried to step in front of it to stop it from rolling into the audience and was thrown back by the force, breaking two vertebrae in his neck.

He did stop the boulder and was hailed a hero for saving the crowd.

Here is one of the videos showing Herrick trying to stop the boulder and save the crowd.

Herrick returned to work this past week, back to the Indiana Jones stage show, where he has worked for 30 years.

WFTV has images of Herrick being welcomed back with special signs that say things like “Welcome back Robert! The boulder didn’t stop you”.

Other parts say “Strength. In Body. In Spirit”. “Determination. Beyond Limits.” “Inspiration. To Us All.

I’m so happy that he is healed up and returned! Herrick seems like a fantastic gentleman, and I hope Disney appreciates that this man was willing to step in front of a 400-pound boulder if it meant saving guests. He is so humble about it all, too.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the crowd was more excited about his return than the show.
