Hasbro and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products Announce Multi-Year Harry Potter Licensing Partnership

Hasbro, Inc. and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) have revealed a new multi-year global licensing agreement that makes Hasbro the official global primary toy licensee for the Harry Potter universe, including merchandise tied to the upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter series. The deal will take effect in 2027 and bring an array of new products to fans around the world.

Under the partnership, Hasbro will create an expanded collection of Harry Potter-themed toys and games, including dolls, role-play items, action figures, collectibles, interactive plush, board games, and more.  These toys will be inspired by both the classic Harry Potter films and the upcoming HBO series. Additional details about these products are expected to be revealed later in 2026.

Toy Fair NY is this weekend, so we may see more there.

Tim Kilpin, President of Toys, Games, Licensing, and Entertainment at Hasbro, offered this comment,

“We’re honored to partner with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products as the official global master toy licensee. He noted that Harry Potter’s “unforgettable characters” align with Hasbro’s mission to deliver a “lifetime of play to generations of fans.”

Robert Oberschelp, President of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, emphasized how the renewed collaboration arrives at a milestone moment, saying,

“Our new agreement with Hasbro arrives as the world of Harry Potter celebrates the 25th anniversary of the first film and continues to expand its magical legacy—powered by one of the most passionate and enduring fan communities in entertainment history. Our partnership with Hasbro will deliver fresh, innovative toys, collectibles and games inspired by the beloved Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films and the new HBO Original TV series.”

HBO’s Harry Potter series has Hasbro excited

The HBO Original Harry Potter series, set for release on HBO and HBO Max in 2027, will serve as a cornerstone for the new toy lines. The show is set to serialize the franchise in show format, with cast members including Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), as well as veteran actors such as John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall.
