Godzilla Minus Zero’s 19.5-inch popcorn bucket is taller than Galactus

The Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn bucket stands 19.5 inches tall, 2 inches taller than the record-setting Galactus bucket. It holds about a quarter of the popcorn, though. The movie opens Nov. 6.

The Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn bucket is here, and it’s a whole Godzilla.

Not a head. Not a bust. A full-body King of the Monsters with jagged dorsal plates and a big swooping tail, standing 19.5 inches tall. The popcorn goes in through an opening in his back.

U.S. theater chains started showing off their Godzilla Minus Zero snack lineups in early October, a month before the movie opens on Nov. 6.

Is the Godzilla Minus Zero bucket the biggest popcorn bucket ever?

It’s taller than the last record holder. It’s not bigger inside.

That record belongs to the Galactus bucket from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Guinness World Records named it the largest popcorn container commercially available in 2025. It’s 17.5 inches high and 20 inches wide, and it holds 341 ounces of popcorn.

The Godzilla bucket beats that height by 2 inches. But it holds about 85 ounces, according to Alamo Drafthouse’s listing.

So Godzilla wins on height, and Galactus still holds four times the popcorn.

How much is the Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn bucket?

$90 at Alamo Drafthouse.

The bucket measures 19.5 inches tall, 17 inches wide and 22 inches long. For comparison, the Galactus bucket sold for $80 in 2025.

Cinemark hasn’t shared a price for its version yet.

What Godzilla Minus Zero merch is Cinemark selling?

Three pieces:

  • 3D Godzilla Popcorn Bucket: The 19.5-inch bucket, with an XL popcorn served on the side.

  • Heat Ray Drink Bottle: A sculpted Godzilla head with a blue, heat-ray-shaped bottle coming out of his mouth. It comes with a large drink on the side.

  • Popcorn Tin: A simpler container with the movie’s title and artwork.

The promo advertises free same-day refills, except on ICEEs. Everything is at select theaters while supplies last.

Cinemark’s Instagram post about the lineup was taken down after it went up, Fantasy Land News reported. Cinemark hasn’t said why, so prices and dates there could still change.

Where did the giant Godzilla bucket come from?

Brazil. Sato Company, the movie’s distributor there, showed it off at Expocine, the Brazilian cinema trade show in Sao Paulo, in late September.

People who saw it in person were stunned by how big it was, according to Bloody Disgusting. The outlet reports it was made by Golden Link, the same company behind the Galactus bucket.

When does Godzilla Minus Zero come out?

Friday, Nov. 6, in North American theaters through GKIDS. It opens in Japan three days earlier, on Nov. 3.

Takashi Yamazaki is back as director. The movie picks up in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, the 2023 hit that won the Oscar for best visual effects.

GKIDS says it’s the first Japanese production filmed with IMAX-certified digital cameras.

Here’s the official trailer:

Has there been a Godzilla popcorn bucket before?

Yes, a smaller one. Alamo Drafthouse already sold a 12-inch Godzilla bucket in 2025, the one with a mouth that opens. That one’s sold out.

The new one is more than half again as tall. Good luck fitting it in the cupholder.
