Go Green Goblin Mode with Hasbro’s New Cosplay Helmet!

Fans of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man have waited decades for this! Hasbro has announced it will release replicas of the Green Goblin’s helmet and pumpkin bomb this Christmas!

For years, those of us who have wanted Norman Osborn’s iconic Green Goblin mask have had to make do with fan-made creations. Now, we can have the official thing for only $124.99! Even the pumpkin bomb is reasonably priced at $39.99!

Oddly, only the Green Goblin’s weapon features electronic parts. That bites because the best thing about Osborn’s evil alter ego was his dialog! I really wanted this thing to say, “We’ll meet again, Spider-Man!

It’s also worth noting that the eye shields don’t retract. It’s just a large piece of plastic. The pumpkin, however, does come with lights, sound, and the Goblin’s cackle.

The helmet sold out almost instantly. Of course, resellers are already listing it on eBay for quadruple the MSRP. However, you can still pre-order it via Entertainment Earth! The same goes for the Pumpkin Bomb.

Expect both replicas to arrive in December 2024.

I’ve always wondered where Norman got the helmet from. Was it part of the glider/flight suit development from the start? Or did his serum-induced madness cause him to create it?

At least Sam Raimi was aware enough to know that using a more comic-accurate depiction would have looked silly in the early 2000s. It may work now if the character ever returns to the MCU, but check out what they were planning before going with the helmet:

It hits the creepy levels one would expect from the director of the Evil Dead trilogy, but at the time, it wouldn’t have worked with audience expectations.
