The Disney Store has sent out a message indicating they are working to improve the shopping experience around the online store’s pin drops. The larger drops usually happen on Tuesdays at 11 AM EST / 8 AM PST.
Disney has seen issues with the release of new pins. Guests have reported problems with the online queue, checkout, and more. The complaints must have worked because they recently sent out this e-mail message,
“Disney Store has seen growing interest in Disney pins over the past year, and we truly appreciate the passion and enthusiasm of the pin community. We’ve also heard your feedback around availability, and we want to reassure you that we’re actively working to make the shopping experience better, and more equitable for Guests.
You may have seen changes with recent pin launches as we have already implemented several safeguards to help protect inventory and promote equitable access during high-demand moments. These include a combination of account-based requirements, enhanced security features, and ongoing monitoring to help manage traffic and reduce misuse. We continue to evaluate and strengthen these protections, and additional enhancements will be introduced as we refine the experience. Please know that improving fairness and access remains a priority for our teams.
Thank you for your continued feedback and for being part of the Disney pin community.”
Disney already requires customers to log in before purchasing the pin drops on Tuesdays, but it seems they are going to put more measures in place to try and make the process smoother and fairer.
I hate it when I go to buy something and all the merchandise sells out quickly and ends up on places like eBay at 3X the price. Even if there are purchase limits, these sellers somehow have far more items than the purchase limits would allow.
What do you think? Will Disney follow through and make the process better for customers?
