Disney’s Mickey Mouse sofa by Gustaf Westman costs about $10,340

Swedish designer Gustaf Westman’s new Disney collection starts with a 110-euro Mickey Tumbler, a 68-euro Mickey cup and a 9,250-euro black leather Mickey chair. It goes on sale online Nov. 15, the last day of a New York pop-up.

Disney just made a Mickey Mouse chair, and it costs about as much as an older used car.

Swedish designer Gustaf Westman and Disney revealed the first three pieces of a new Mickey and Friends home collection on Oct. 12. The big one is a puffy black leather seat shaped like Mickey’s head and ears, priced at 9,250 euros.

That’s about $10,340, using the European Central Bank’s Oct. 12 exchange rate. Disney hasn’t announced U.S. prices.

What’s in the Disney x Gustaf Westman collection?

Disney revealed three pieces first, with prices in euros:

  • Mickey Tumbler: 110 euros, or about $123. It’s Westman’s chunky tumbler done up in Mickey’s red, yellow and black, with two black ears on the lid.

  • Mickey Cup: 68 euros, or about $76. It’s a black ceramic cup and saucer shaped like Mickey’s head.

  • Mickey Sofa: 9,250 euros, or about $10,340. It’s black leather and made to order.

The collection will also include furniture, tableware, clothing and accessories, Disney said. Wallpaper magazine reported it’s 35 pieces in all.

Westman’s online store already lists more Disney pieces as “Coming Soon,” without prices. They include a Minnie Tumbler, Donald’s Hat Cup, Mickey’s Glove Cup, Mickey’s Shorts Vase, a Goofy Vase, a Mickey Clock and a Mickey Mirror.

Is the Gustaf Westman Mickey Sofa a sofa or a chair?

Kind of both. Westman’s store calls it the Mickey Sofa.

Disney’s French announcement calls it a “canape,” or sofa, in one spot and a “fauteuil,” or armchair, in another. Its press photos are labeled both ways, too.

In those photos, it’s a single low seat made of big round leather cushions, with the ears forming the back. So it seats one, and it looks like a chair.

Either way, it’s made to order, so don’t expect it to ship next week. Westman’s site hasn’t posted dimensions or a lead time yet.

When can you buy Gustaf Westman’s Disney collection?

Nov. 15 at noon Eastern time, on gustafwestman.com. It’ll also be sold through Beams in Japan.

Westman’s store ships to the U.S., according to the site.

There are also three pop-up shops where you can see the full collection and buy some of it:

  • Paris: Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, at 10 rue de Saintonge in the Marais. It’s free and open to everyone, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Tokyo: Nov. 6 to 8 at Beams Harajuku, according to Westman’s site. Disney’s announcement says Nov. 5 to 8.

  • New York: Nov. 13 to 15, at 40 Renwick St. Online sales start on its last day.

A selection will also be sold at Disneyland Paris, Disney said. No date yet.

Is the Mickey collection coming to Disney Store or Disney World?

Not that Disney has said. A search for Gustaf Westman on Disney Store’s U.S. site came up empty on Oct. 13, and Disney’s announcement doesn’t mention the U.S. parks.

For now, New York is the closest place for most U.S. fans to see it in person.

Who is Gustaf Westman?

A Stockholm designer who started his studio in 2020. His website calls him an architect-turned-designer. His stuff is easy to spot: thick, wavy shapes in candy colors.

His big hit was the Curvy Mirror, a wobbly-edged floor mirror that started in 2020 as a piece for a stylist’s apartment, Highsnobiety reported. People have been posting DIY copies of it on TikTok ever since. He followed it with chunky cups and glasses.

In 2025, he did a limited holiday tableware line with IKEA. IKEA called it Westman’s first product design collaboration with another company.

What did Gustaf Westman say about Mickey?

He sounds like a fan. Before designing anything, he visited Disneyland Paris, where the collection’s photos were later shot.

The tumbler is his favorite piece, he said in the collection’s announcement. “You can look at it for one second and totally understand it,” Westman said.

He told Wallpaper that very few characters are recognized in a second all over the world. “For me, that is the highest level of design,” he said.

Is this part of Mickey’s 100th birthday?

Disney hasn’t said so. Mickey’s first big cartoon, Steamboat Willie, premiered Nov. 18, 1928, which makes his 100th birthday Nov. 18, 2028.

The online launch on Nov. 15 lands three days before Mickey turns 98. Disney’s announcement only says Mickey has been around for nearly a century.

Disney does have a separate designer project for the 100th. In April, it announced a multi-year program with Vogue that teams designers up with Mickey, starting with the founder of fashion brand Ami Paris. Disney hasn’t tied Westman’s collection to that.

What are some fun facts about the Disney x Gustaf Westman collection?

The tumbler is dressed like Mickey. It has a red body with two white buttons, like his shorts, and a yellow base that Wallpaper says calls back to his shoes.

The cup sits in a Mickey head. The black saucer is shaped like his head, ears and all, and the cup sits in the middle.

The photos had a celebrity stylist. Disney said the collection was shot at Disneyland Paris and styled by Harry Lambert, who’s best known for dressing Harry Styles.

The sofa costs about 84 tumblers. At 9,250 euros, you could buy 84 Mickey Tumblers and still have 10 euros left, by our math.

It’s a lot of money for a chair. But it’s probably the only one in your neighborhood with ears.
