Recently, Hurricane Helene ravaged Florida, leaving a path of destruction through the Sunshine State. As of the writing of this article, 227 hurricane-related deaths have been reported. Now, another major storm, Tropical Storm Milton, is expected to evolve into a full hurricane and make landfall before the end of the week.
Here is the current timeline for Milton. It will cross central Florida and likely impact Walt Disney World.

Disney has been taking measures leading up to the storm as the state of Florida is still recovering from Helene.
Disney has stated that guests should expect some closures during this time period. While no specifics were given if it referred to certain areas or entire parks, the locations that usually close first due to severe weather are the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks.
It has also been noted that Walt Disney World has paused hotel reservations from October 9th to October 10th as a precaution for the safety of both guests and staff. While the resort is located more inland and not as affected by the tropical storm, heavy rain and wind can still cause major safety hazards.
Disney has a special task force of cast members named the “ride-out crew” who specialize in assisting guests during these storm-related incidents. If the parks ever close, the crew provides entertainment for the guests staying at the hotels, with possible compensation depending on the severity of the situation.
While Disney has not fully stated whether there will be any closures, many are still keeping an eye on the situation as the storm slowly heads toward land. It should be noted that while it is predicted to become a hurricane, predictions are never 100% certain. They are called “predictions,” after all.
What do you think? Will Disney end up closing the parks for the storm? Or will guests still be able to enjoy their vacation? Let us know your thoughts.
