Disney Is Finally Putting More Original Trilogy Star Wars at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland — About Time

Big news for OG “Star Wars” fans. Disney finally decided to put the most beloved version of “Star Wars” in Galaxy’s Edge. It only took several years.

According to Disney, fans can start to see these changes starting on April 29, 2026.

“New storylines will be brought to life on Batuu, spanning multiple eras of the planet’s rich history. These updates will enable you to experience the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, as well as the Age of the Resistance and First Order.”

I have to wonder if they are doing this because Luke Skywalker brought the crowds back when he appeared in Disneyland last May.

Disney will actually start bringing in props and characters from the original trilogy to the Disneyland version.

(They are finally doing the bare minimum they should have done from the beginning)

  • Darth Vader and Imperial Stormtroopers will be seen around the outpost.
  • Leia Organa will be seen near the Millennium Falcon, along with Han Solo.
  • Luke Skywalker will also roam around the outpost.
John Williams’ iconic classic “Star Wars” music will also be featured!
  • As guests enter the tunnels to Galaxy’s Edge, the “Main Title” and Force Theme will play. Which is some of the most iconic music ever, why did it take them this long?
  • Other songs will play throughout the park, including “Han Solo and the Princess”, “The Desert and the Robot Auction”, “The Emperor”, and more.
  • Finally, the “Cantina Band” song will be part of Oga’s Cantina music!  Again, what took them so long?!

New merchandise based on the old trilogies

  • First Order Cargo is getting transformed into “Black Spire Surplus,” a military salvage selling artifacts from various time frames, including Imperial and Rebel pieces from the “Galactic Civil War”.
  • Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will also showcase “one-of-a-kind” artifacts that will likely include original trilogy pieces.
  • The Droid Depot will be now be operated by an “earlier generation” of the Mubo family, where they are prototyping the BB droid.

Better late than never, I guess. But now they need to bring these things to Walt Disney World.

Oh, and retheme Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to the original trilogy as well.
