Did Disney Break Up Mickey and Minnie? No, But Here’s Where The Rumor Comes From

A new rumor has been circulating indicating that Disney is breaking up Mickey and Minnie Mouse. This, of course, has many concerned as Mickey and Minnie have been together for almost 100 years. But is it true? The answer is no.

Where is this rumor coming from?

The rumor stems from a comic book issue of all things.

Recently, Marvel Comics announced a 60th Anniversary issue of “The Avengers” and “X-Men” in “What If…” style covers featuring Disney characters posing as characters in covers of the past. “The Avengers” #1, “X-Men” #1, and ‘The Avengers” #16 will be receiving Disney character makeovers.

In these covers, Mickey is paired with Daisy Duck and not Minnie Mouse.

Ant-Man and The Wasp appear as Mickey Mouse and Daisy Duck for “The Avengers” #1 cover.

Here’s the original cover for comparison:

On the X-Men #1 Cover, Mickey is portrayed as Cyclops, and Daisy Duck, not Minnie Mouse, is portrayed as Jean Gray.

Here is the original “X-Men” #1 cover.

In “The Avengers” #16 cover, Mickey is shown as Quick Silver while Minnie is his sister, Scarlet Witch!

Here is the original cover.

Even though it’s a parody and Disney has made these variant covers with their cartoon characters before, these covers have fans confused.

Don’t worry. Mickey and Minnie are still a couple. What’s more concerning is that Disney has made so many questionable decisions of late people who don’t know about the comic covers think the rumor could be real. Honestly, I’m surprised they didn’t put Minnie and Daisy together as a couple.
