When you think of a popcorn bucket, you usually think of a large vessel to hold a substantial amount of popcorn. Given how expensive a lot of them are, a large quantity of popcorn is warranted. Now, DC is trying to change this perception with their Lobo popcorn “bucket” for the upcoming “Supergirl” movie. It only holds a sand shovel or partial scoop of popcorn, and fans aren’t having it.
DC Film News posted a look at the Lobo “bucket” which is more like a skimpy popcorn capsule.

Size does matter.
This is the latest controversy for the “Supergirl” film, facing poor box office predictions
“Supergirl” is only tracking for $45 to $65 million, which could put it around “The Marvels” ($47 million) opening.
Estimates put the break-even point for “Supergirl” at $425 million.
Recently, the star of “Supergirl,” Milly Alcock, came under fire for comments about “people feeling ownership for women’s bodies” (which by default means men) and then further alienating the male-dominated audience by saying,
“I guess women know that this is just how it’s always been, unfortunately. And it’s from a lot of people whose profiles have no photo, who are burner accounts. Or someone’s name and then ‘Dad of four, Christian,’ which is hilarious to me. But I mean, whose opinion do you really care about? If you’re pissing the right kind of people off, you’re doing OK.”
This has not gone over well with potential viewers, including reviewer Grace Randolph, who feels the actress should have stopped talking.
“I couldn’t believe this. If I were a publicist, I’d be like, ‘Stop talking for the love of God,” Randolph said.
Unfortunately, this may have pushed some potential viewers further away.
Now the Lobo popcorn “bucket” backlash.
Supergirl’s biggest villain might be all the controversies around it. We will find out when the film releases on June 26, 2026.
Lobo on the bike still looks cool, though.
