Dancing with the Stars Grammy Night songs include Thong Song

Three couples drew the Argentine tango for Dancing with the Stars’ first Grammy Night on Nov. 10. Maura Higgins got “Thong Song,” the only song in the lineup that never won a Grammy.

Dancing with the Stars’ first-ever Grammy Night is Tuesday, Nov. 10, and the songs are out. Somebody call Sisqo.

Podcast host Andy Richter revealed the dance styles and songs on the Dancing with the Stars Official Podcast, TheThings reported. Three of the seven couples drew the Argentine tango, which should make for a very dramatic, slightly repetitive night.

Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas got “Thong Song.” That’s the only song in the lineup without a Grammy win. Sisqo’s hit was up for two Grammys in 2001 and lost both. Every other song on the list has won at least one.

Seven couples are left, and only one is safe from the night’s dance-off round. Brandy and Monica, Maren Morris and Sheryl Crow are set to perform.

Here’s the Disney Night jazz that helped Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson lock up immunity:

What are the DWTS Grammy Night songs and dances?

TheThings and In Touch, via Yahoo, both posted the full list. We added each song’s Grammy history:

  • Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: Argentine tango, “Thong Song” by Sisqo (two nominations in 2001, no wins)

  • Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold: Argentine tango, “SexyBack” by Justin Timberlake (won Best Dance Recording in 2007)

  • Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: Argentine tango, “Crazy in Love (The Remix)” by Beyonce (the original won two Grammys in 2004)

  • Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: paso doble, “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence (won Best Hard Rock Performance in 2004)

  • Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy: jazz, “All for You” by Janet Jackson (won Best Dance Recording in 2002)

  • Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik: tango, “Boom Boom Pow” by the Black Eyed Peas (won Best Short Form Music Video in 2010)

  • Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: salsa, “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars (won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2025)

Yes, “Boom Boom Pow” technically won for its music video. It still counts.

Frech and Karagach have been teasing theirs since Monday. “This is gonna be a very different side to us,” Karagach told TheThings. Beyonce will do that.

Who is performing on DWTS Grammy Night?

Brandy and Monica, plus Maren Morris and Sheryl Crow, Entertainment Now and That Grape Juice reported. Nobody has said what they’ll sing yet.

Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” won them a Grammy in 1999, so the duo fits the theme. It’s also pop’s most famous fight over one guy, which is a lot of drama for a ballroom.

How does the DWTS Grammy Night dance-off work?

ABC hasn’t posted the full rules, Dance Mogul noted. Here’s what we know.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson have immunity from the dance-off. Shum tied Jenna Dewan with a perfect score on Disney Night, and producers broke the tie with season totals: 236 to 235.

The other six couples are expected to face off, Entertainment Now reported. In past seasons, dance-off couples danced the same style head-to-head, the judges picked the stronger one and the winner earned bonus points.

Immunity only covers the dance-off, though. Shum and Johnson can still be eliminated, Dance Mogul reported.

What time is DWTS Grammy Night, and where can I stream it?

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m. ET

  • Where: live on ABC and Disney+

  • Next day: streaming on Hulu

  • How to vote: at dwtsvote.abc.com or by texting a couple’s keyword to 21523 during the live show (U.S. only)

The show is back on Tuesday after Disney Night moved to Monday this week. Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa went home on Disney Night, which left seven couples.

After Grammy Night, the semifinals are Nov. 17 and the finale is Nov. 24. That’s three episodes left.

Why is Dancing with the Stars doing a Grammy Night?

The show hasn’t explained the theme, but the timing is hard to miss. The Grammys move to ABC next year under a 10-year Disney deal. The 69th Grammy Awards air Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027, on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu.

That will be the first Grammys broadcast on ABC since 1972, WDWNT reported. CBS had the show for more than five decades.

So Disney is about to have the Grammys and a ballroom show on the same network. Put them together, and you get Maura Higgins doing an Argentine tango to “Thong Song.” Synergy is a beautiful thing.
