The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has a large area under construction for the upcoming Piston Peak (Cars-themed area) and the new Villains Land. These new developments will take multiple years to complete and are still in the early stages of development. But thanks to @biorconstruct on X, we have a look at the progress being made. Oh, and the Liberty Belle is still docked near the Magic Kingdom.
Let’s take a look!
You can see the wide area of construction practically surrounding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The Rivers of America were drained to make room for the upcoming Cars attraction and the area behind BTM is prepped for Villains Land.

For those worried about the Liberty Belle, she is still nearby,
At left in this aerial photo is construction of new Magic Kingdom ferry boat.
Sections of the hull have been transported by truck and welded together in dry dock of a service marina north of Contemporary Resort.

It’s all coming along, but slowly. Hopefully, we will see more construction soon.
The Magic Kingdom seems to be quite a bit behind the new Tropical Americas area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the new Monsters Inc. area coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
