Recently, there have been rumors that Changeables are returning to McDonald’s in 2026.
Changeables were popular McDonald’s toys in the late 80s and early 90s that featured McDonald’s “food” items or packaging that transformed into robots(1987/1989) or dinosaurs (1990).
But are they coming back?
Yes. It seems that this rumor is indeed true given McDonald’s official teaser after leaked images appeared,

You can see in the video that these are indeed some of the toys from the leaked images. Specifically, Cap Cap, Boo Bot, Kurtis the Devine, D1V4, Fergon, Drinkobius, Ki0, and Teff Rex.

Yes, they are indeed real!

What did the original Changeables look like?


The figures started releasing in 1987 and featured McDonald’s food that turned into robots. The initial run had six figures that included
- Chicken McNuggets Robot.
- Big Mac Robot.
- Milkshake Robot.
- Egg McMuffin Robot.
- Large Fries Robot.
- Quarter Pounder Robot.
In 1989, another round was released and included eight characters.

- Ice Cream called “Turbo Cone”
- Soft Drink called “Krypto Cup”
- Quarter Pounder called “Gallacta Pounder”
- Hotcakes called “Robo-Cakes”
- Cheeseburger called “C2”
- Large Fries called “Fry Force”
- Big Mac called “Macro Mac”
- Small Fries called “Fry Bot”
The final release was in 1990 with dinosaur-themed figures called McDino Changeables

- Milkshake called “Tri-Shake-Atops”
- Big Mac called “Big Mac-O-Saurus Rex”
- Ice Cream called “McDino Cone”
- Happy Meal Box called “Happy Meal-O-Don”
- Quarter Pounder called “Quarter Pounder With Cheese-O-Saur”
- Large Fries called “Fry-Ceratops”
- Chicken McNuggets called “McNuggets-O-Saurus”
- Hotcakes called “Hot Cakes-O-Dactyl”
