Zootopia 2 Gets Some Major Announcements And New Clips

At this year’s D23 Expo, during the entertainment showcase, some major updates were given about the upcoming sequel to 2016’s animated hit Zootopia. The story of a small rabbit with big dreams moving to the city and teaming up with a fox to uncover a major conspiracy is about to get a whole lot crazier.

The synopsis for the movie reads: “Judy and Nick find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.

During the press conference, it was announced that one of the new key characters will be a snake named Gary (Played by Ke Huy Quan). This will mark the first appearance of a non-mammal as a sentient character in this world.

A short bit from the movie was also shown. Nick and Judy are in a backwater part of the city looking for Gary. They encounter quite a few strange critters in this area, specifically ones with odd ways of communicating.

Like the previous film, a few visual gags and puns were shown. Nick breaks the fourth wall and addresses the crowd of the “Z23 Expo”, stating that the movie was being brought to us by the makers of “Deadmule & Wolferine,” “Inside Snout 2,” and “Moofasa,” among others.

While no specific details were given on Nick and Judy’s relationship status, many fans speculate that their romance may be an allegory for inter-racial relationships, much like how the first film dealt with race relations between “Prey” and “Predators.”

The film will be released on November 26th, 2025. Are you excited to return to the wild side of civilization? Let us know your thoughts.
