Disney’s ‘Zootopia 2’ now has official dates for its digital download and physical media releases following its incredibly successful theatrical run. These dates may help to figure our when ‘Zootopia 2’ could come to Disney+.
The sequel, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, will be available for digital purchase and rental beginning January 27, 2026. Fans can buy the movie on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and other premium video-on-demand services starting that date.
Following the digital release, the film’s physical media formats, including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD, are scheduled to arrive in stores on March 3, 2026. The home release will include bonus content.
What to Expect in the Home Release
We don’t know all the details about the bonus content, but early previews suggest the physical editions will include behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, and other supplemental materials, giving fans a look at the making of the film. Some previews have already surfaced online showing clips and details from these extras ahead of their official inclusion.
The movie premiered in cinemas on November 26, 2025, and went on to break records as one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, earning over $1.7 billion at the global box office. It also features returning voice talent, including Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps), Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde), Shakira (Gazelle), Idris Elba, and new additions to the cast such as Quinta Brunson and Ke Huy Quan.
When will ‘Zootopia 2’ release on Disney+?
We don’t know yet, as no date has been announced. However, it will likely be sometime in March or April since Disney usually releases the paid versions (digital and physical media) first.
