YouTube “Urban Explorer” Demonetized After He’s Outed for Trespassing

Yesterday we reported about Matthew St. Cyr and how he is showcasing videos of trespassing on Central Florida Parks on his YouTube channel Mattsonswa.

Click Orlando has since contacted Google, YouTube’s parent company, about the videos to see if his exploits were in violation of terms of service for monetiation.

Currently YouTube has policies against things like use of illegally obtained materials:

A Google spokesperson told Click Orlando that “the company vigorously enforces its policies governing what kind of videos can include revenue-generating advertisements.”

After reviewing the videos YouTube has demonetized the channel so it can no longer run ads.

But he was also part of Patreon and used patron donations to continue his work. His account has been suspended there as well.

This comes after his comments about making money from his exploits:

“I make a living out of it. I’ve got to put food on the table somehow.”

Well now it seems that he is not going to receive compensation for his “urban exploring” by trespassing on amusement park property.
