Who has died?

The first death happened on October 14, 2025.

This was 31-year-old Summer Equitz from Naperville, IL, who committed suicide at the Contemporary Resort near the Magic Kingdom.

She was reported missing, and her family said she went to Walt Disney World without telling anyone. Then she committed suicide.

A second death happened a week later, on October 21, at Disney’s Fort Wilderness.

According to reports, a man in his 60s was found unresponsive in bed by his wife. He was transported to the local hospital, where he died.

Now a third person has died on October 23, 2025, at Bay Lake Tower

The guest was identified as Matthew Cohn, who was reportedly staying at the Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower when he suffered a medical emergency and passed away.

Medical emergencies and deaths do happen at Walt Disney World

As with any major resort or tourist attraction, medical emergencies and deaths do happen at Disney Parks. I have been blogging about Disney for years and it does happen.

Thankfully, most are treated and survive, but there have been several high-profile deaths associated with Disney Parks. With millions of visitors a year, the percentages are fairly low and usually incidents are due to medical emergencies.

Our deepest condolences to the family, friends, first responders, and Cast Members involved in these incidents.
