Woman Sues Disney After Tripping On Trolley Tracks at the Magic Kingdom

If you have ever visited the Magic Kingdom, you know about the trolley tracks running down the center of  Main Street U.S.A.  They are raised up, and many a guest has tripped or twisted a foot trying to hurry down the throughway to Cinderella Castle and the Walt Disney World Hub area.

Now, one Kentucky woman is doing what many others have not. She is suing Disney over injuries sustained when she fell on the railway.

According to a recently filed lawsuit, Rhonda Smith claims that Disney was negligent because it did not properly mark or warn guests about the trolley tracks. She claims this led to her falling and her injuries and medical expenses.

What happened?

The suit indicates that on October 2024, 2025, at about 5 PM, she caught her foot on the track and pavers, which caused her to trip and fall.

Further, she claims that her fall resulted in serious injuries that caused her to suffer “from bodily and terminal injury including a permanent injury; physical and mental pain and suffering; disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience; loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life; aggravation of an existing condition; expenses of treatment; past lost wages; and loss of ability to lead and enjoy a normal life.”

That would have had to have been on heck of a fall if it caused her the ability to lead a normal life.

I have wondered why there aren’t more lawsuits over those tracks because they can be potentially dangerous. I’ve rolled an ankle a time or two myself.

Aren’t the tracks obvious?

They are, but if you are in a crowd and you aren’t familiar with Main Street U.S.A., I could see where you might not see it until you fall.  But at 5 PM, the crowds should have been thin enough to notice the tracks. I would be less surprised if this happened in the morning rope drop rush.

Ms. Smith is suing for $50k, which is the standard bottom amount when filing these kinds of lawsuits. The courts can adjust that amount higher, based on what they see fit.

What do you think? Is this a justified lawsuit? Comment and let us know!
