A lot of us have seen the pictures of wildlife appearing in the streets of cities and towns in quarantine. Without people they are just roaming around, their curiosity getting the better of them.
This let to some readers asking us about the wildlife near Disney parks, particularly at Walt Disney World, and specifically the alligators.
We have an answer for you from an anonymous source that has friends in the know.
Yes. At Walt Disney World with the guests gone, animals are coming into the park areas– particularly bears and alligators. Due to layoffs and the Coronavirus pandemic, they don’t necessarily have enough staff to deal with it all.
Now this isn’t unusual, alligators are usually being removed by trained professionals when the parks are open. It happens. It’s Florida, and there are a lot of water features at Walt Disney World. I don’t think any of this should be surprising to parks fans. Currently a lot of people are ordered “to stay home,” are ill or in the high risk group, they just don’t have the people to handle all of this to the level they usually do. So it was bound to happen.
Again, when the parks do re-open, it likely won’t be a “Oh we are 100% open now” scenario. Even after the bans are lifted, it could be weeks for the parks to re-open and even then it will likely be in phases. Disney and their cast members could need weeks to get everything up and running with food, trained staff that want to come back, and removal of any animals that got past them. I doubt they will open until they are 100% sure it’s all safe for guests.
Keep this in mind.
Oh and we also got our question answered about the music. No. It doesn’t run when the parks are closed, but other than that it looks the same so it’s kind of “eerie” and that seems sad and fascinating to me.
