Disney is trying to compete against the opening of Epic Universe with a “Good-to-Go” day for Annual Passholders.
Walt Disney World announced that Annual Passholders do not need reservations to visit any of the four theme parks today (including Magic Kingdom).
Currently, Annual Passholders still need park reservations to enter any of the Walt Disney World theme parks (EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and the Magic Kingdom). On certain days, Disney will offer the “Good-to-Go” option to Annual Passholders so they can visit without the hassle of reservations.
Honestly, it’s just about controlling how many Annual Passholders plug up the park and take away from the full price customers that they think give more profit. Often, the busier times of the year have extremely limited or no “Good-to-Go” days listed.
In response to the opening of Epic Universe at Universal Orlando, Disney has unleashed this option to try and claw back people to the Walt Disney World Resort today.
Since many Annual Passholders are locals and likely have already visited Epic Universe, it will probably help them pick up some traffic in their theme parks today.
