When Will Disney’s Wish Come To Disney+

Now that “Disney’s Wish” has been officially released to theaters, many want to know when it will come to Disney+ because they don’t want to go out and would rather watch from home.

Currently, Disney’s “Wish” is only available theatrically. Disney is no longer releasing their films both on Disney+ and in theaters simultaneously. They usually keep films in theaters for at least 30 days, and some minimum runs can be up to 45 days.

If the film flops, which is looking like a possibility with box office estimates at $55 million domestically for five days (Wednesday-Sunday), it could hit streaming in early 2024. Then again, “Elemental” started out slow but stayed in theaters for months before coming to Disney+.

Overall, the box office predictions put it at the $185 million – $285 million domestic run. Given that the budget for this film is said to be $200 million, it would need at least $400 million to break even, and likely more than that when you figure in the extensive marketing for the film.

It may break even globally, but I don’t think it’s going to make a lot of money. Disney will likely try to offer it digitally first, as they’ve been doing for many of their films, before settling it into Disney+.

Either way sometime in 2024 is the likely answer. Right now, we don’t have an exact date.

If you really want to see it right now, you are going to have to go to the theater to do so.
