File this under opinion, but what the heck is going on with the press tour for “Wicked for Good”? Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are becoming the punchline on social media with their odd comments and weird antics. Many worry that their behavior could hurt the box office for the film. I think it will still do fine either way as most people don’t watch the interviews, but with social media grabbing onto the behavior, people may start to see the clips.
Here are some of the highlights.
Why does Erivo have to be touching Grande at all times? I get one might have anxiety and the other is being supportive, but it’s crossing into creepy territory.

Now reports indicate that Erivo has lost her voice and can’t do interviews for tonight’s premiere in New York City.
Many are pointing out that it’s ridiculous that Grande can’t do them alone. Or are they simply being told to stop talking?
Who refuses to do interviews “in solidarity” over laryngitis?
Cynthia Erivo has lost her voice and will not be doing interviews at the ‘Wicked: For Good’ premiere in New York tonight, Variety reports.

The real reason why Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande won’t be giving anymore interviews.
The Studio had to put a stop to the cringe that is.. whatever the hell this is. 🫣pic.twitter.com/kIFjm7vQcl

One would think Grande should be supporting the movie by giving interviews that Erivo cannot provide! Imagine if everyone involved with the movie didn’t show up at the premiere to “support” Erivo? The purpose of the premiere is to support the movie, not Erivo’s untimely illness! pic.twitter.com/EPDbQkI541

People think their behavior is just odd.
It’s so bad that this parody video is one of the top results if you search Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Thank goodness “Wicked For Good” is finally opening this week. Then the media circus can end and hopefully everyone goes back to their own normal.
