The upcoming reboot of Marvel’s Blade has not been having the best time in terms of production. Ever since it was first announced, the film has seen delay after delay, with multiple writers and even directors leaving the project.
The film, set to star Mahershala Ali, was initially teased at the end of The Eternals, where he meets with Kit Harington’s Black Knight. Nothing has been said of what the plot will follow other than a rumored draft where Blade would be more of a side character with a female lead taking center stage away from the titular vampire killer.
Things have gotten so bad that even former Wesley Snipes has decided to comment on the situation.
For those unaware, Wesley Snipes portrayed the monster killer in a trilogy of films developed by New Line Cinema from 1998 to 2004. The first Blade film was a hit with both critics and audiences, making $131 million on a $45 million budget. Blade II in 2002 did similarly, making $155 million on a $54 million budget. However, 2004’s Blade Trinity, despite making $132 Million, was disliked by both critics and audiences, ending the trilogy.
The former Blade actor recently took to his X/Twitter account to comment on the situation after the announcement that Yaan Demange, the film’s second director, would be leaving the project with no replacement lined up. He commented on how the people behind the project don’t seem to understand how to bring the character to life properly.

While the current Blade movie is still stuck in development hell, there is a small chance that we may see Wesley Snipes appear as the half-human, half-vampire in a multiverse-style cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine—that is if a rumored report about that is proven true.
What do you think? Will the Blade Reboot ever see the light of day? Or will it end up disappearing into ashes like The Inhumans? Let us know your thoughts.
