If you happen to be at the Walt Disney World hotels during the 2-week shut down, from March 16-March 31, there will be some Disney transportation available–as long as they don’t close the hotels too.
Here’s what transportation will be available during the closure:
- Resort Monorail
- Buses connecting onsite resorts to Disney Springs
- Buses will start running between resorts so guests can visit other resort hotels

Here’s the transportation what will be closed during the shut-down:
- Disney Skyliner
- Express Monorail connecting Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center
- Buses connecting onsite resorts to the theme parks
The Skyliner makes sense because it has to do turn-arounds at park stations and the parks will be closed.

This also applies to theme park buses and monorail to parks trips. The parks are closed so they don’t want guests in those areas.
As of now, Disney has indicated that a lot of the options at Disney Springs will be available. Keep in mind that could change and we will keep you posted if it does.
I don’t think a lot of people are going to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort when the actual parks are shut down, but if you do, these are your options for Disney transport.
What do you think? Comment and let us know.
