Previously we reported that some guests were getting PhotoPass photos from attractions where Disney put digital masks on other riders. Many people have been complaining that they lost their PhotoPass images because other riders didn’t follow the rules and keep their masks on. When that happened Disney would not allow the image to be released.
Now Disney has apparently gone back to not digitally adding masks and they have released the following statement:
“In response to guest requests, we tested modifying some ride photos. We are no longer doing this and continue to expect guests to wear face coverings except when actively eating or drinking while stationary.“
I wondered how long it would take till they went back to the way it was. If guests thought they couldn’t get their photos if they didn’t mask up they would be more likely to wear them on the attractions as instructed. But if Disney would just fix the photos there wouldn’t be the peer pressure or incentive to keep them on and some guests might just not wear them.
Now Disney has announced it is stopping the digital masking of maskless riders.
