**UPDATE** 1/3
The Reedy Creek Improvement District spokeswoman, Eryka Washington said that responders were called in at 5.24 and there was no fire at the scene. They were there for 12 minutes before leaving.
Disney had not respond for comment according to the Orlando Sentinel (are we surprised?)
Eryka Washington, spokeswoman for Reedy Creek Improvement District, said responders were called to the ride at 5:24 p.m.
There was no fire at the scene, and responders were there for 12 minutes before leaving, she said.
The People Mover and Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland have re-opened after the Reedy Creek Fire Department inspected them and gave an all clear!
Guest can ride, but the conveyor belt has been turned off, so guests must walk up the ramp. So perhaps the issue was with the conveyor.
Most walk up even when it’s running so I don’t think that will cause too many issues for people.
I’m so happy The People Mover is okay!
No official statement has been made yet.
I will update if we get one!
