Universal Orlando’s CineSational Brings Drones and Fireworks!

CineSational: “A Symphonic Spectacular” has started its limited-time run at Universal Orlando Resort! The nighttime show over the lagoon showcases classic and new scenes from Universal’s massive library of films.

CineSational uses projection mapping, fireworks, lighting, water effects, and a fleet of drones to bring guests over 20 minutes of entertainment inside Universal Studios Orlando. In some ways, it outdoes Disney’s recently launched Disney Dreams That Soar, presented by AT&T. Yes, that is the full title, including the corporate sponsor.

The show packs a lot of nostalgia, along with loads of music from long-gone rides. It really makes you appreciate how awesome the park was when JAWS, Kongfrontation, and BTTF were all there at the same time. I miss those glory days.

Be swept away on a cinematic journey for your senses with stirring film scores and dancing fountains. Relive your favorite movie moments through powerful soundtracks that evoke the mystery and magic of Harry Potter, the pulse-pounding excitement of Jurassic World, and the gripping suspense of Jaws.

Similar to the Disney Springs aerial attraction, CineSational: “A Symphonic Spectacular” is for all ages. However, parents should remember that footage from some more mature movies appears in the lagoon’s projections. This includes Quinn’s gory death at the end of JAWS.

CineSational is included with your Universal Studios Florida admission. The event happens on select nights through August 25. Click here to learn more and make your reservations!

It has been a good long while since I was at the park late enough to see a show on the lagoon. Whenever I go to Universal Studios, I point out everything that used to be there for my kid. I remember where the Swamp Thing house was, along with the Mariner’s ship from Waterworld.
