On December 23, 2024, Universal Orlando filed a permit with the South Florida Water Management District to remove the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and replace it with new buildings.
After the news got out yesterday, @TeaTimeontheLiftHill asked Universal Orlando when the attraction would close, and they answered.
The Rip Ride Rockit will close in September 2025.

While we don’t yet know for sure what will be replacing the attraction, we do know when it will shut down.
This new construction is called Project 830 on the documents.

The permit seems to include the attraction area, part of a parking lot, and some other land. The plans show two buildings that will be added to the land.
Currently, the plans list the status as in review, with a January 22nd, 2025, date to be approved or to get an extension.
