Two Manatees Now Viewable At The Seas In EPCOT

We have some good news for manatee lovers! The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT now have two new manatees staying at the rehab center in the Seabase Aquarium. They are named Mino and Cider.

Mino is a 2 1/2-year-old male manatee who was orphaned a couple of years ago.  Mino needs to gain some weight before being released back into the wild as he is only 470 pounds.

Cider is a 3-4 year old female manatee who was also orphaned two years ago. She was adopted by another manatee, but she has an abscess that is being treated, so she is at the facility. Cider weights about 750 pounds.

@mouseears.and.fairytales posted this video of one of the two manatees on Instagram. I think it might be Cider.

Disney’s facility is now staying as a short-term facility for manatee rehabilitation.

These two have been receiving care at other locations before coming to The Seas in EPCOT.

According to WDWNT there are also two more male manatees still in a back tank, removed from guests.

This is good news if you missed seeing the manatees at EPCOT. More will likely rotate through the aquarium over the next few years.
