Tumuera Morrison Says He Will Not Be Appearing In Star Wars “The Mandalorian and Grogu” Film

Jango Fett and Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison says he has not been contacted to appear in the upcoming “The Mandalorian and Grogu” Star Wars film.

This past weekend was Fan Exp Chicago, and during a panel called “From Clone Troopers to Bounty Hunters,” Morrison told the crowd that he would not be in the next film.

I’m still waiting for a phone call to be quite honest,” he observed. “I think we’re just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later.

Part of the issue seems to stem from the “Boba Fett” show’s poor performance on Disney+.
The “Boba Fett” show was frankly a train wreck and felt more like “The Mandalorian Season 1.5” than it did a show about Boba Fett. The character didn’t even act like the infamous bounty hunter and talked far too much, which was something Morrison claimed he questioned in an interview.

“I’m talking too much. This bubba doesn’t talk this much!”

He apparently tried to lessen his lines and told a crew member, “I’ve got all these paragraphs here! I think we should get rid of it. And Jon’s gone to Atlanta, so don’t tell him! Next morning on set, I get a call from Atlanta: ‘Uh, Jon wants you to say all that dialogue.’”

It seems that the show’s poor reception is playing into the decision to shelve Boba Fett. Morrison also stated, “This show’s reception does seem to have impacted the future of the character in the franchise.

If Lucasfilm had delivered proper Boba Fett, the show would have been better. Just like if they had made Obi-Wan Kenobi about his time on Tatooine watching over little Luke instead of making it about Leia, it would have likely done much better as well.

Hopefully, the new film will actually be about the characters people know and love and not a way to kill off Jin Darin to make it about another character.
