The United States election happened yesterday, and former President Donald Trump appears to have won both the Electoral College and the popular vote. While many at the Walt Disney Company will not be happy about this, there is an upside. They can save money on a new animatronic.
If Trump takes office again, Disney can update the speech and move the animatronic back to the center stage where the current President sits.
This time the animatronic will look like Trump and not like Hillary Clinton as it did for long time when it was originally added.
Funny story about that. The rumor is that Disney was so convinced Clinton would win they already started building her animatronic ahead of the election.
When she lost, they allegedly repurposed her animatronic for Trump until one that looked like him could be built. If you see the images, it does indeed appear to be the case.

Trump after.

Trump should be returning to the center. That is, if they don’t remove or change the attraction completely.
However, if one rumor is true, it might not matter if Disney saves money on Trump’s animatronics.
Over the years, there have been a couple of rumors suggesting that the attraction could be changed to something else.
One of those rumors involved The Muppets taking over the stage.
Originally, they were talking about hiring Weird Al Yankovic and Lin Manuel Miranda to create it. But nothing else has really been mentioned about it since.
I’m not sure Disney would spend the money, but given how polarizing everything has been in the last 10-12 years it is possible they would consider shuttering the attraction. Then again, they would have to spend more money to change it, which would likely end up as IP.
The Muppets have proven popular in Liberty Square before.
Either way, it seems that the Trump animatronic will be the only one to return to center stage in the attraction’s history.
