Trailer For Disney’s Snow White Remake Passes 1 Million Dislikes

On August 10th, at this year’s D23 Expo, Disney revealed and gave updates on multiple projects that are currently in the works, from the theme parks to streaming and even their feature films.

One of those projects is the Live-Action Remake of the 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. The first teaser trailer gave us a small glimpse into what the film will look like when it is released in March 2025 ,” .

However, despite Disney’s push to get audiences excited, the long list of controversies surrounding its main star and its production have soured like a bad apple.

As of the writing of this article, the like-to-dislike ratio on YouTube (viewable via Google Chrome with an extension) is one million dislikes to only 79K likes, making the like-to-dislike ratio ten times more negative than positive. And with the view count at just a little over 8 million views that means roughly 1/8 of the total viewers (on YouTube) disliked the video.

The film has been embroiled with controversy ever since the announcement of the lead actress. While yes, the lead actress herself is a different ethnicity of the original depiction, she has on multiple occasions taken shots at the original film, which made many fans upset.

There was also the controversy surrounding the apparent “removal” of the titular Seven Dwarfs and replaced with “Magical Creatures” before putting them back in following backlash. But then they decide to make them all CGI instead of actually hiring actors with dwarfism.

The latest controversy is, once again, connected to Rachel Zegler with her addition of “Free Palestine” attached to a tweet thanking fans for the online view numbers for the teaser.
