These types of events begin at Universal Orlando later this week. Until then, we have a top three things list of suggestions for items to eat at Universal Orlando Resort.

Top Three Things: Italian Meat Pizza from Vivo Italian Kitchen – $19

top three things

November 12 earns the right to be National Pizza with Everything Day. While we cannot fully endorse pizza with absolutely everything, we will steer you towards Vivo Italian Kitchen for a solid pizza option. The Italian Meat Pizza is our preferred option of the four current pizza choices at Vivo Italian Kitchen at Universal CityWalk Orlando.

El Macho Nacho Hat – $8.99

top three things

Since Tuesday, November 14, is National Guacamole Day, we needed to try the El Macho Nacho Hat. We will be very busy that day, so we celebrated early. This currently can only be purchased via the mobile order pickup window for Illumination’s Minion Café.

This snack inspired by the supervillain of the “Despicable Me 2” movie makes a cute, sharable option. Sadly, the hat is not made of chips. We appreciate the attempt by Universal Orlando Resort. This consists of crispy tortilla chips served with house-made guacamole inside El Macho’s signature sombrero. I guess you could keep the hat, but do not expect it to last long.

Devil Dog Doughnut from Voodoo Doughnut – $4.25

voodoo doughnut

We visited Voodoo Doughnut on the first day that two new military-themed doughnuts started being sold at Voodoo Doughnut at Universal CityWalk Orlando. We ordered the Devil Dog Doughnut since it sounded most unique. This doughnut consists of a soft chocolate cake doughnut sliced in half, filled with whipped topping, and dipped in camo icing. For the record, we loved this. We have noticed the names of the two military-themed doughnuts at Voodoo Doughnut Orlando have changed on the website since we wrote the initial review. This one is now called the Marine’s Birthday. The other one mentioned in our previous review is now called the Veteran’s Day Doughnut.

This sounds like a busy day of food if you ate all of this in one day. We suggest not doing that. However, we survived doing it ourselves and then attended a media event at SeaWorld Orlando, which involved plenty of food.

We will return next week with more food suggestions in our Top Three Things article for the week. Remember, these come out each week on Sunday. As always, eat like you mean it!
