Well, we have almost arrived in April. This year, that means several things. One, this means the temperatures are rising leading us to the hot days of summer. Two, the Easter holiday happens in the middle of April leading to higher school break crowds that week. Third, Universal Orlando Mardi Gras will end in April. Well, unless they extend Mardi Gras in similar fashion to 2021.
This week’s three suggestions involve two Mardi Gras items and one new item in Wizarding World.
1. Twisted Taters

First, the Universal Orlando seasonal food staple known as twisted taters needs to be enjoyed while at Universal Orlando. This snack appears often at Halloween Horror Nights and Mardi Gras. In recent times, Universal Orlando chefs have been designing new variations of this classic snack. For 2022 Mardi Gras, you can order this for $8.49 in standard form. Your three seasoning choices are Cajun, ghost pepper, or garlic parmesan. If you want to up the taters experience, you can get a twisted tater surrounding a hot dog for $12.49. Also, you can add queso to that hot dog surrounded by twisted taters for $2.50 more.
2. Mardi Gras Praline Cheesecake

After that savory snack, you might be looking for a sweet treat. At the bakery cases within Universal Studios Florida, guests may find the Mardi Gras Praline Cheesecake. You must give Universal Orlando chefs credit for the colors of this dessert. However, the flavor of this cheesecake surprisingly offers a rich creamy taste. The graham cracker crust layer adds to this experience. If looking for a solid cheesecake for Mardi Gras, this one serves as a winner.
3. Mushroom Pie Platter

Finally, many vegan items have been added to the food options in the Wizarding World area. Previously, vegan diners felt left out by options in Wizarding World restaurants. In contrast, the “Mushroom Pie Platter” provides vegans with more options at the Three Broomsticks. For $15.99, guests may buy this stewed jackfruit and mushroom pie with a side salad. Initial reviews speak of this “pie” being a huge improvement for vegan diners there.
I hope this “Top 3” weekly installment finds you doing well. Also, if you plan to be at Universal Orlando anytime soon, you should check out these dining options.
As always, eat like you mean it!
