Well it looks like we won’t be getting the TTA PeopleMover back anytime soon at Walt Disney World. According to Blog Mickey it’s has the refurbishment extended through December 26, 2020.
This latest extension comes after a couple other previous ones. My concern is that we won’t get it back at all and it’s a very popular attraction. Our whole family really likes it.
Before the pandemic shut-down the attraction was down for several days due to technical issues and before that there were a couple incidents. One involved ride vehicles colliding and one involved the fire department being called as smoke rolled down the escalator ramp.

It’s older technology that is run by magnetic conductors and Blog Mickey and some of our sources have indicated that they aren’t a very easy thing to replace. I just really hope they don’t scrap it. I’m also wondering if they don’t want it running while they are working on the Tron Lightcycle Coaster. When you are on the PeopleMover you can see right into the construction area, but now that it’s a lot further along, it might mean it could be more dangerous for people riding.
What do you think? Comment and let us know!
